I Have Proven This Million Dollar Niche!

Before I get started, I want to clearly explain one thing to everyone. Every niche out there has the potential to become a million dollar + business, seriously. From drones to drawers, from billy goats to billy clubs. From binary options to binary programming. Everything is a niche with an incredible amount of opportunity.
BUT…
There is one niche in particular that supersedes all of them. I have been keeping this niche secret for many years and I have been quietly making a fortune in this niche.
The thing about it is that it is something that involves an item everyone has in their backyard, something that has an incredible mark-up (lots of room for profit), and the audience that wants these items is probably the most aggressive buyer I have ever come across.
The reason. It targets folks that are lonely and that are using social mediums as their way to communicate with others and connect with new friends, to share their lives with others, and to go out of their way to show people what they just ate for dinner.
Yes, and this same audience enjoys cat video and jokes about flatulating.
Ready for the niche?

Rocks. Pet Rocks.

Pet Rocks first got their start back in 1975 by an advertising executive, Gary Dahl. Their popularity in the first 6 months was incredible. He sold 1.5 MILLION rocks at $4 a pop and became an instant millionaire.
But it then died off for almost 3 decades and bypassed almost 2 generations. But there has been a monumental shift in the last few years in the way we behave. All businesses are cyclical in nature.

Living in a world of Smartphones, Texting, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter, people are used to communicating in an intimate way and we are now all used to spending a good part of our day expressing ourselves to inanimate objects. As crazy as it sounds, everybody needs a friend… especially in this day and age when we are consumed by technology and we rarely interact in person.
Thus, an industry has been revived and the opportunity to build a massive business from something as simple as pet rocks is a reality.
What if you could talk to your rock? What if you could bling out your rock? What if you could have rocks that were specific to events (corporate meetings, wedding favors, paper weights, etc).
And think of all the spin off niche opportunities that could arise from Pet Rocks. Painting services, Bejewelling rocks, funny pet rock youtube videos, photo shoots with you and your beloved rock.
Exactly my point. The opportunity is freaking incredible.

Creating Your Rocks (Your Business)

So how do you get rolling in this business?
There currently are not any good affiliate programs that I can recommend, but getting your own inventory of rocks is very easy to do.
Step 1: Finding the Rock
Go to your backyard or a local beach. If you are in the desert or in a place without beaches, head to the hills, head to the desert, head to your closest mountain, heck, go to Home Depot and buy some rocks. Your customers will never know where they came from.
I personally walk around my local neighbourhood looking for rocks or head to a local beach. When I find a rock, the first thing I tell myself is “MONEY in the bank”.
Step 2: Branding Your Rock
I have secretly been selling WA Rocks. I find that there is a huge audience out there and huge demand for rocks that have the WA logo on them. So this is how I dress up my rocks and if I am feeling crazy, I will put a “silly” face on the rock.
Here is a picture I took of the latest rock I created.
I have painted over 100,000 rocks in the last year (if you have noticed my blog posting has been down a bit, this is why). It only takes me about 15 minutes per rock, but I can sell these suckers for $10-$100 a pop.
$100 x 100,000. You do the math.
Step 3: Sell Your Rock
There are lots of places you can sell your rocks. Here are just a few places that I have been using to distribute and sell my rocks.
Then from there, I simply post my rocks that I have created with love, and wait for them to sell. It usually only takes an hour or so to sell all of my inventory, then I get out there on the streets looking for brand new rocks that need a home (and fill my coffers in the process).
There honestly has never been an easier way to make money online.

Now is Your Time!

If you have been looking for the perfect niche and the perfect way to make HUGE money online, look no further than pet rocks.
It has all of the attributes of a very successful, long term niche.
  1. There is no shortage of rocks
  2. There are over 7 billion people out there, many of whom have smartphones and are lacking fundamental relationships
  3. It’s fun to be in this space
  4. People are rabid buyers
So now is your opportunity. I have leaked what it takes
Before I leave you here, I just wanted to show you one thing that I do to personally brand myself on every single rock, I always put this on the back side of every single rock that I create.

Choosing the Best Affiliate Programs - Relevance vs. High Payouts

A very common question that people have when getting rolling with their websites, surrounds what are the best affiliate programs for their respective website.
The answer? The most relevant one.
It is sometimes easy to get lost in the idea of promoting something to your audience and what specifically should you sell, that you forget completely about that the fact that there are REAL people on your website and these people are looking for something specific. If you can help them enough to build trust, you can make relevant recommendations that they will take advantage of at a higher rate.

Every sale starts from an initial source of relevant traffic.

Typically this will be someone searching for information in Google, a review, a solution to a problem, but sometimes it will be people on a social network that click through your ad or through your link and end up on your website.
Let's look at a few examples here, focusing on the most common form of traffic, search traffic.
Say someone visits your page through the keyword, "buy a vitamix 6300 blender online", your post might show like the following below within the search results (this is actually my site).
These people are very late in the purchasing lifecycle, which typically would mean they already know that they want a vitamix blender online...they are just looking for a place to purchase (likely the cheapest/best warranty/etc).
If you can provide people with this information and help them find the best, most reputable way to purchase their Vitamix 6300 blender online, you are going to make a sale.
The affiliate program you should choose should be one that allows you to SELL this vitamix blender, in this case, Amazon is one of these affiliate programs that you could leverage and average commission for this is $40-60 (I know, I have made SEVERAL Vitamix sales through Amazon).

**SIDE NOTE: If you own a Vitamix, you can actually join their affiliate program and earn higher commissions directly through them at 15% per sale (which is $90+ per sale).
Now, what if someone was searching for "best blender for smoothies".
If your website was ranked under this search term, then you would want to help people decide on which blenders were the best for smoothies. Different ones might be better for different reasons and in this case you might want to do a little research.

Researching Quality & Relevant Affiliate Programs

For my research, I usually head over to the handy resource, Google.
Type in: Blender + Affiliate Program
Here are some options that I got right away in Google.
And if you go to a website like Amazon.comEbay.comBestbuy.com or Walmart.com(which all have affiliate programs), you will be able to promote any of these products to your audience.

There are 2,846 options on Amazon alone!
Amazon is just one of the many affiliate programs that I can leverage and as within any niche, there are going to be different price points in which you can attract different audiences and in this case, many different qualities of blenders (from low end to industrial).
I definitely would not tie myself to just Amazon as there are lots of other great options out there as you can see.

Chasing Higher Ticket Affiliate Programs, a Good Idea?

If I organize the blenders from prices highest to lowest, here are some potential commissions I could receive on blenders even at Amazon's low 6-10% commission rates.
You can see from this, there are many items that are several thousand in this case. In the case of these blenders, the prices range from cheap ($15 to $10,000's). In the above screenshot, you can see that particular row of the results range from $4,668 - $5,706.
The affiliate commissions on these if you were on the upper side of the commission scale would be 10%, so the average commissions if you were to sell these would range from $467 - $571.

You can see that there are high ticket products within this space, the same that there are low ticket items. Higher ticket sales would come much more infrequently, but people definitely are buying more industrial style blenders online because they are more cost efficient and typically carry the same sort of warranty (sometimes even better).

The Affiliate Program Research Never Ends...

When I am involved in any niche, I spend a good deal of time throughout the journey investigating and finding affiliate programs. As I dig up affiliate programs, I take note of them and more often than not sign-up to the ones that I am going to be leveraging on my website.
Through time it is quite OK to be involved within many affiliate programs, it is quite a natural process and as you become more and more of an authority, your website is going to have a much larger scope and you will be able to effectively promoting many different products and "like" products to your audience.
So always keep your eyes open, continue the research process and think outside of the box in terms of what your audience would want or benefit from (and what products you could cross promote to them).
If you have any questions about affiliate program research or have any affiliate program related experiences you want to share with me, please leave them below.

How to Create a Successful and Search-Friendly Title

The TITLE of your Article is THE MOST IMPORTANT component when it comes to attracting more traffic to your website/Blog.
Most of the people find the right articles by the use of Search engines, and with the use of Keywords. When your content is not user-friendly, no doubt about it, you will NOT generate traffic to your website/blog.
HOW TO BE SEARCH FRIENDLY:
  • The Title needs to be descriptive and preferably SHORT. Maximum 10 words is absolutely more than enough! If your title contains the types of short terms people type into search engines like Bing.com or Google.com when looking for specific information, the chances are much higher that they will be lead to your website/blog (make sure you do a Keyword Research to find the best and less competitive keywords for your content). (e.g. "how to learn your dog to sit" may result in a title like "Learning Dog to Sit").
  • To be competitive, a title must address a subject and keywords. Just quickly check how extensively a subject is covered online just by Googling it.
  • To have a high potential for success, a title you create must also address a subject about which you are genuinely passionate.

The Ultimate List of Traffic Sources

I won’t list as many services here because, frankly, it’s not as useful to use a wide variety of paid sources as it is to use a wide variety of free sources. Most paid sources use similar rules and you will only want to buy a few at most from each category. The only thing I can say is that, if you’re just starting out, it may actually be better to use a smaller ad network, since there will be less competition and prices will generally be lower. Once you’ve reached profitability with one of these smaller networks, you can start using the larger networks.
  1. Search Engine Pay-Per-Click Ads     (Such as AdWords): Search engine advertising is     widely used for a good reason. The traffic is highly relevant and, if     you’re willing to dig, you can still find fairly inexpensive queries to     target that are relevant to your target audience. The biggest mistake     people make with Adwords and similar services? They either send all     traffic to the same place, instead of the most relevant page, or they make     no effort to filter out “negative keywords” that will result in clicks     without payment. Remember that there are many search engines besides     Google, where the competition for ads is much lower.
  2. Retargeting Ads (Such as     Adroll): These kinds of ads help     give you the “stereo effect” by showing your ads to people who have     already visited your website. (Adwords does this too nowadays.) This keeps     you top of mind and familiar in the eyes of your visitors, but be warned.     If used excessively, it can creep out consumers.
  3. Pay-Per-View Ads (Such as Media     Traffic): Pay-per-view ads are most     useful if you have gotten very good at optimizing click through rates,     since the price you pay isn’t impacted by the number of clicks, just the     number of times the ad is seen.
  4. Direct Navigation Traffic (Like     Trellian): Direct navigation occurs when a     user types a domain name directly into their browser, clicks on a link,     etc., and the domain does not exist. Direct navigation ads analyze the URL     for keywords and redirect the user to your domain if it is deemed     relevant. Direct navigation traffic is much lower in relevance than most     other forms of paid traffic, but the costs are also very low, so if your     goal is to reach as many people as possible, this may be the most     effective option.
  5. Mobile Ads: Recent     research by Medialets confirms     that mobile users do in fact convert based on mobile ads, especially those     that are shown in apps as opposed to the mobile web. Mobile ads placed     directly by publishers tend to do better than those placed by networks, at     least so far.
  6. Social Media Ads: Social     ads have proven to be fairly effective as a source of revenue but they     should be used with caution. They are often most effective when paired     with a smart social media strategy, by focusing on ads that stand a change     of getting shared.

What is Dropshipping?

Drop shipping is when your products are shipped directly from your supplier to your customer, rather than shipping first to your business and then to your customer.
To better understand what a drop shipper does, here’s a typical purchasing process without a drop shipper:
1. Your business orders your products from a supplier, eyeballing how much to get of each product
2. Your business stores your products in your warehouse or other storage facility
3. A customer places an order with your online business
4. Your business receives the order
5. Your business packages and ships those products to your customer
6. Your customer receives the products they ordered
7. Your business continues to store any extra inventory that isn’t sold
.
With a drop shipper, however, the purchasing process looks more like this:
1. A customer places an order with your online business
2. Your business passes the order information onto the drop shipper, which has all the products in its storage space
3. Your drop shipper packages and sends products directly to your customer
4. Your customer receives the products they ordered
Thus, drop shipping is a way for your business to avoid stocking your own products while still being able to fulfill customers’ orders with the help of a supplier.

What are the benefits of drop shipping?
The main benefit of drop shipping is that it frees your business from the costs, effort and time of storing, packaging and shipping your own products. However, that’s not all it has to offer. Here are some additional benefits of drop shipping:

Saves money
By using a drop shipper, you and your business are able to cut a number of typical business costs. For example, drop shippers often get a better shipping rate than a small-to-medium business could get on their own. Furthermore, you can reduce losses from products damaged in transit because the products are taking a more direct route.
Minimizes risk and waste
Without a drop shipper, businesses have to take big risks when they buy their inventory. It’s almost impossible to predict trends and tastes, or whether that new product line will really take off or just take up storage space. With drop shipping, there’s no excess inventory or under-ordering. Since all the products are with the supplier, you’ll have exactly as many as your customer ordered.
Increases inventory variety
Drop shipping can effectively increase the variety of products your online business sells by giving you access to both specific niche products and popular best-sellers. Plus, your business is no longer limited by product aspects such as size or perishability.
Allows for more business flexibility
When drop shipping frees your business from storing products, you’re free to locate your business almost anywhere. Anywhere there’s an internet connection is now fair game. And since you don’t have to worry about storage space, it’s also very easy to scale your business.
Proven to work
While it has gained in popularity with the growth in online business, drop shipping is a tried and true practice used by successful businesses for decades.  From  huge retailers like Zappos, to many small-to-medium Volusion stores, drop shipping can be a great asset to your online store.
.
How do I find a drop shipper?
So you’ve decided to use a drop shipper, but don’t know where to start looking for one. Luckily, you have one of your best allies at your fingertips: the internet. Here are three major ways to figure out your drop shipper options:
1. Search online
If you’re like most people nowadays, this option came to mind immediately. Simply go to your favorite search engine, type in “drop shippers,” and done, right? Unfortunately, finding a drop shipper is a little more difficult than your average search. Drop shippers tend to have very poor SEO marketing campaigns, as well as typically less-than-impressive web design. However, it is possible to find a good drop shipper through search. You just have to be persistent.
Pros: No extra cost, you’ll be very knowledgeable about your options by the end.
Cons: Takes a lot of time and effort.
Some extra tips when searching online:
  • The best drop shippers may not show up on the first couple pages. Try digging deep, like pages six through 10
  • Expand your search terms from “drop shipping” and “wholesale” to include other terms like “distributor,” “bulk,” “reseller,” “warehouse” or “supplier”
  • In addition to using typical search engines, don’t forget to visit pages like yellowpages.com and search for the terms listed above
2. Try paid directories
Because it can be difficult to find drop shippers through search alone, websites have cropped up that have extensive lists of drop shippers, but can only be accessed at a price. In addition to the cost, many of these directories are suspect. Legitimate directories do exist, but be aware that many of these sites are full of outdated links and drop shippers that are out of business.
Pros: More convenient, less time spent searching.
Cons: Cost, moderate to high risk of encountering a scam.
3. Use alternative drop shipping websites
There are other websites that are a mixture of directory and drop shippers themselves. Doba is a good example of this. These websites are often more legitimate, but come at a higher price than your average paid directory website.
Pros: Get a variety of drop shippers to choose from, convenience.
Cons: Higher cost.
.
What should I know before choosing a drop shipper?
As you will see, there are plenty of options for drop shippers. Do ample research on what each drop shipper provides, and determine which one best fits your specific business needs.
Here are some questions you should ask before deciding on a specific drop shipper:
How long have they been in business?
Drop shippers have a reputation for going in and out of business fairly quickly, so a fresh face is far from ideal. Instead, choose a veteran drop shipper with a proven record of trustworthiness. Typically, the longer they’ve been around, the better, with a good benchmark being 10 years or more.
Who do they use for shipping?
Make sure that the drop shipper you choose is using a legitimate and capable shipping company for maximum reach and stability, as opposed to a small shipping company that’s just starting out.
Do they ship internationally?
Though you may not be selling internationally yet, if you’re even open to the idea doing so one day, you’ll want to make sure that international shipping is an option.
Who else do they work with?
Get an idea of who else is using the drop shipper and figure out where your company falls in their mix of clients. Ideally, your company will fall in the middle, since being the largest risks the drop shipper not being able to keep up, and being the smallest may end up in your business being overlooked.
Do they offer custom packing materials?
Being able to customize your shipping labels and packing slips means you can make sure that products will show up on your customers’ doorsteps with your branding on the box. Plus, having control over the packing slips means you can include things like coupon codes or customer service phone numbers.
Do they send order notification emails?
If your drop shipper sends order notification emails to your customers, then that’s one less thing you’ll have to keep up with when processing orders. This can be a great way to save time and maintain quality customer service.
What is the drop shipper’s return policy?
Read the return policy closely to identify any specific fees or charges for processing returns. And make sure they update their records so you won’t have to cover the cost of the returned merchandise.
How much will you be paying?
Many drop shippers only have per order fees, but some also charge a “participation fee,” which can greatly drive up the overall cost. So be on the lookout for any hidden or additional fees.
How do they accept payment? What are their terms?
It’s important to consider how flexible the drop shippers payment options are, and whether or not they fit with your business. And remember, sometimes payment options increase after a certain period of time or a specific number of orders.
What are others saying about them?
Whether they’re doing a great job or a poor one, there should be no shortage of reviews on the internet. See what people are saying in forums, on social media and by word of mouth. And if you have any questions, contact the drop shipper and ask for references from companies they’ve worked with.
.
Conclusion
Your online business has a lot to gain from partnering with drop shipper. But remember, like most things ecommerce related, it has to be right for your business. With patience and a little know-how, you can utilize drop shipping as another tool to build a successful online business.
